Senior Drilling Engineer

Qualification Requirements: Minimum BS Engineering or equivalent

Work Description:

  • Lead development of Derrick Equipment Set (DES) and Drilling Support Module (DSM) functional requirements
  • Primary interface between Topsides design team and Drilling design team
  • Ensure the DES and DSM support drilling wellbore design (e.g., equipment sizing/rating, laydown area, storage)

  • Experience working within multi-disciplined team environment involving multiple stakeholders
  • Familiar with applicable industry related codes (API, ASME, ANSI, SAE, ASTM, ABS, DNV, SOLAS, IMO)
  • Knowledge of Canada-Newfoundland Labrador offshore Oil and Gas regulations (CNLOPB)
  • Experience in reviewing drawings and schematics (PFDs, P&IDs, E&I system review)
  • Willing to relocate to multiple work sites (Houston / St. John's) based on Project schedule and need
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
  • Fluent in English

Experience:

  • Experience in Drilling, Completion, and Intervention activities in an offshore environment
  • Strong preference for experience in an Integrated Platform Environment
  • Background in Drilling, Completions, and Workover operations for extended reach and horizontal wellbores
  • Knowledge of Sand Control technology an asset, specifically any experience with gravel packing applications
  • Experience and familiarity with Platform Drilling Rig systems specifically in North Atlantic harsh weather environments
  • Previous experience with large integrated Projects involving construction of Drilling Facilities in an Integrated offshore environment a strong asset
